A complete dish in itself - with chicken and shrimp, vegetables, and quail eggs. This is our Chopsuey Recipe, SARAPlicious version. This is one of my favorite vegetable dishes. I can eat this with rice, or just as is. It has everything on it, simmered in a very savory broth. You can add more vegetables or meat, like snow peas, baby corn, liver, or even pork strips, according to your preference. Ingredients: * For the meat - chicken (deboned quarter legs) and shrimp (shelled) * For the vegetables - carrots, green beans, red and green bell peppers, cauliflower, mushroom, cabbage, garlic, onions * For the broth - water, chicken bones, shrimp heads * For seasoning - salt, ground black pepper, oyster sauce, chicken cube, sesame oil *quail eggs * cooking oil * slurry for thickening the sauce Procedure: 1. Cook the quail eggs and set them aside. When done, boil the chicken bones and shrimp heads in the same pot for the broth. 2. Season the chicken and shrimp with salt and ground black pepper. 3. In a preheated wok with oil, sauté onions, and garlic. 4. Add the chicken. Put salt, ground black pepper, and oyster sauce. 5. Pour the savory broth and add the chicken cube. Let it simmer. 6. Combine the vegetables with this order - carrots, green beans, cauliflower, red and green bell peppers, cabbage, and mushrooms. 7. Put the shrimp and quail eggs. Mix well. Cover to simmer. 8. This is a very SARAPlicious Easy Beef Asado Recipe you should try. It is simple and very easy to prepare. A one-pot dish where you put all ingredients and simmer until the beef becomes tender. In our recipe, I used beef chuck cut into chunks. This was seared in garlic and onions first, then the rest of the ingredients were combined. Our last SARAPlicious partner meals - beef stew, garlic fried rice, and soup. This is our Beef Pares Recipe. Pares or "pair" in English is a meal consisting of meat, rice, and soup. This is the famous dish - Beef Pares - which is served in eateries along sidewalks. The tenderness of beef simmered in a sweet-savory sauce is perfect with the garlic fried rice and soup. In our recipe, I made sure to tenderize the beef brisket for that SARAPlicious taste. I reserved some of the broth while boiling it to serve as the flavorful soup. Then I cooked the perfect garlic fried rice to go with it. We have other beef recipes you can cook at home: Beef Caldereta - 🤍 Beef Mechado - 🤍 Beef Steak - 🤍 Beef in Oyster Sauce with Snow Peas - 🤍 This is a complete meal - simple but very SARAPlicious. Try it! Ingredients: * 500g beef brisket * 1 onion * 4 garlic cloves * 1 thumb-size ginger * 1 beef cube * 2 pcs star anise * bay leaves * 1 1/2 liters of water * 1/2 cup soy sauce * 3 Tbsp brown sugar * 1/2 Tbsp Chinese rice wine * sesame oil * slurry (to thicken the sauce) * salt (to adjust the taste) * For the garlic fried rice - 1 beaten egg, 6 garlic cloves, 3 cups day-old rice, cooking oil/chicken oil Procedure: 1. Combine these ingredients in a pot - beef brisket, onion, garlic, ginger, beef cube, star anise, bay leaves. 2. Add water. Stir and let it boil. 3. While tenderizing the beef, reserve some broth for the soup. 4. When beef is fork-tender, add the following - soy sauce, brown sugar, and Chinese rice wine. Mix and let it simmer. 5. Check the taste and adjust accordingly ( here, I added salt). 6. Put slurry to thicken the sauce. Stir. 7. Lastly, add sesame oil. Mix once then turn off the heat. 8. Wash the basmati rice and soak for 20 minutes. 2. Fry the onions. Set it aside. 3. Cook the basmati rice. Drain and set it aside. 4. Make the beef marinade. 5. Transfer to a pressure cooker. Cook for 45 minutes from the time it whistles. 6. Start layering in a pot - beef, rice, mint leaves, fried onions, ghee. Repeat. Before covering, add kewra water. 7. It is my first time trying this recipe and I was happy with the outcome. The pork ribs are marinated in pineapple juice and soy sauce then braised and simmered in its marinade with the combination of tomato sauce. The taste is sweet, savory, and so delicious! A hearty and delicious breakfast to get you up in the morning - this is our Cheesy Sausage Omelette. Thanks to our new product sponsor - Super Sausages - I was able to make this simple yet delicious breakfast. In this recipe, I used the Supreme Cheesy sausage, sliced and cooked it, then added to the egg mixture. You can eat this with garlic fried rice (🤍 or freshly baked pandesal (🤍 Make this your breakfast and you will love it! Ingredients: * 1-2 pcs Supreme Cheesy sausage, sliced * 2 eggs, beaten with 1/8 tsp salt * 1/4 tsp salt (for the sausage) * 1/4 tsp ground black pepper * 1 small white onion, chopped * 1/2 cup grated cheese * cooking oil Procedure: 1. Beat two eggs with salt in a bowl. 1. In a heated pan with oil, sauté onions. Add the cheese sausage. 2. When it is cooked, remove and set aside. 3. In the same pan, add the beaten eggs. Move the pan to spread the egg mixture. Cook under low heat. 4. Sprinkle grated cheese on top. 5. Line up the sausages on the half part of the egg. Reserve some for the toppings. 6. Back in Dubai, we order this in a famous furniture store and when it opened here, I have not been there yet. Since I craved for it, I made Swedish Meatballs, SARAPlicious version. This is simple and very easy to prepare. The sauce is not as dark as the one we order, but it is as good as it is. You can put more soy sauce for a darker color, but not too much as it might be salty. Here's a SARAPlicious vegetable sisig - our version of Tofu Sisig. This is a good recipe for the lenten season and so easy to prepare. You need firm tofu, slice into cubes, and fry until golden brown (i think I overcooked my tofu in this video - but it still tastes delicious). Mix with the mayo mixture and transfer to a sizzling plate. Have this for your lunch or dinner, or even as a side dish, and serve it with steamed rice. Try this recipe now. Share it with your family and friends! Ingredients: * 5 pcs (small size) tofu, cut into cubes * For the mayo mixture: 1/2 cup mayonnaise, liquid seasoning, 2 pcs calamansi (juice extracted), 1/4 tsp ground black pepper * butter * 1 red onion (add more if you prefer) * 1 red bell pepper * green chilies * 1/4 tsp salt * cooking oil * spring onion and red chili (for garnishings) Procedure: 1. I was so happy to finally cook our version of Seafood Paella, Easy Recipe. Thanks to my dear chef friend, Rica, who gifted me a paellera pan, paella rice, and saffron set. I first thought of having all the seafood - shrimp, mussels, and clams. My husband and I were so excited and the result was absolutely delicious and satisfying. Make the seafood broth - combine the mussels and clams in a pot of water with a shrimp cube. When it's done, set aside the shells. 2. Heat olive oil in a pan. Sauté onion, red bell pepper, garlic, and tomatoes(this is equivalent to sofrito which is used in making paella). This is the flavor base for our paella. 3. Add sweet paprika and mix. 4. Put the paella rice and combine well. 5. Pour the seafood broth. Do not mix, just press down with a steel basting spoon to scatter the rice and broth. Simmer under low heat. Check from time to time, and add more broth as needed until the rice is cooked well. 6. Add the shrimp. mussels, and clams. 7. When it's cooked, add the frozen green peas. 8. This is truly delicious! Our Crispy Pork Kare-Kare, one of the SARAPlicious Recipes for the Holidays. We had the Kare-Kare beef version - 🤍 - which includes oxtail and beef tripe. In this recipe, we used a slab of pork belly, bones removed, boiled to make it tender, then baked. Then, smoking hot oil is poured on the pork skin to crackle up, making it crispy and crunchy. Ingredients: * 1 kg pork belly (pork liempo), bones removed * For boiling: 2 liters water, 5 bay leaves, 2 Tbsp black peppercorns, 2 Tbsp rock salt * For the Kare-Kare sauce: 5 Tbsp chicken oil, 2 Tbsp annatto (atsuete)seeds, 7 garlic cloves, 2 red onions, 150g crushed roasted peanuts, 6 Tbsp peanut butter, 4 cups beef stock, 1/2 cup glutinous rice flour dissolved in 1/2 cup water * Vegetables - 1 bundle string beans (sitaw), 3 pcs eggplant (talong), 1 bunch Bok choy * Bagoong or Shrimp paste Procedure: 1. Sear the skin of the pork belly to remove unwanted hair. 2. Boil for an hour or until the pork is tender. Brush with vinegar all over. Prick gently to release moisture. Rub salt on the skin. 3. Allow cooling at room temperature. Afterward, keep in the refrigerator overnight to dry up without covering. 4. The next day, wipe with a paper towel and bake at 250C for 30 minutes. 5. After 30 minutes, check. Then bake again for 30 minutes at 180C. 6. Cook the Kare-Kare sauce. 7. Blanch the vegetables except for eggplant which needs to be fried. 8. Heat oil until smoking hot. Place the baked pork belly beside it. When the oil is very hot, pour on the skin to crackle up, making it crispier and crunchier. 9. Assemble on a serving dish. 10. Our second carrot loaf, this time, with cream cheese frosting. Some ingredients here are different from our first published carrot loaf (🤍 - instead of walnuts, I used cashew nuts. No raisins but chocolate chips instead. No pineapple tidbits which keep it moist, but yogurt to replace it with ( this is our homemade yogurt - 🤍 The result is also moist, and delicious, especially with the cream cheese frosting. You'll be glad to know that it is not sweet as it may seem. This is so easy to make and can be your snack or dessert. Try our recipe and include it in your menu for New Year. Ingredients: * 2 1/2 cups shredded carrots * 2 cups all-purpose flour * 1 1/2 tsp baking soda * 1 1/2 tsp baking powder * 1/2 tsp fine salt * 1 cup brown sugar * 1 tsp ginger powder * 1 tsp cinnamon powder * 1/2 cup cashew nuts * 1/2 cup yogurt (🤍 * 1 cup chocolate chips * 1/2 cup canola oil * 3 eggs For the cream cheese frosting: * 1 block cream cheese * 1/3 cup butter (unsalted) * 1/4 cup powdered sugar Procedure: 1. Shred carrots. Set aside. 2. Combine all ingredients in the bowl. Mix well. 3. Grease loaf pan with butter. Transfer the carrot mixture. 4. Bake at 180C for 30 minutes. Let it stay in the oven for 10 minutes more before removing it. 5. Let it cool. Transfer to a serving plate. 6. Make the cream cheese frosting using a mixer until the desired smoothness is achieved. 7. Spread the cream cheese frosting on top. 8. Sprinkle cashews and chocolate chips as garnishings. One of my favorite Indian recipes - this is our version of Chicken Biryani. This dish is truly bursting with flavors. From the Basmati rice to the aroma of mixed spices such as turmeric powder, chili powder, green cardamom, cumin seeds, coriander powder, etc. - everything about it is absolutely flavorful and delicious. I've been introduced to this dish as we stayed in Dubai for a number of years. When I came back home for good, I've been missing this - so we made this recipe. The process is quite long but it's all worth it. The perfect partner when eating this is the mixed raita we made (this is the link - 🤍 Before doing this we also made our own yogurt recipe (🤍 which is an important ingredient to both. This is a must-try dish and I'm sure you will love it! Ingredients: For the chicken marinade: *800g chicken cuts (preferably thighs & drumsticks) * 1 cup yogurt (homemade - 🤍 or store-bought) * 1/2 tsp turmeric powder * 1/2 Tbsp chili powder * 1/2 Tbsp salt * 1/2 Tbsp coriander powder * 1 Tbsp ginger paste * 1 Tbsp garlic paste * 3 pcs green chilies * 1 large red onion * 2 Tbsp lemon juice Note: you can add mint leaves and coriander leaves For cooking the rice: * 500g Basmati rice (washed then soaked for at least 30 minutes) * 2 liters water (add more if needed) * 1 cinnamon stick, divided * 5 pcs clove buds * 1/2 tsp black peppercorns * 2 pcs green cardamom * 1 pc star anise * bay leaves * 2 Tbsp vinegar * 1 Tbsp salt For the toppings: 3 large red onions, sliced For the sauce: 2 Tbsp cooking oil, 3 Tbsp ghee, 1 Tbsp cumin seeds Optional: for added color - red food color powder or saffron Procedure: 1. Combine in a bowl all ingredients for the chicken. Marinate for at least 30 minutes. 2. Wash Basmati rice and put it in a bowl with water. Soak for at least 30 minutes. 3. In a preheated pan with oil, fry onion slices until golden brown. Set aside. 4. In a large pot, combine all ingredients for cooking the rice. Let it boil. 5. When the rice is 80% done, remove it from heat. Strain and set aside. 6. Put all ingredients in a large pot for the sauce. Mix then add the marinated chicken. Cover to cook. 7. When the chicken is done, remove half of it and place it in a bowl. Add the sauce. This will be used for layering. 8. Add fried onions to the pot with the remaining chicken. 9. We start layering - first spread half of the rice on top. Then, place the reserved chicken and sauce. Put fried onions. Cover with the rest of the rice and spread across the pot. Top with fried onions. Cover and simmer under low heat for 10 minutes. 10. After 10 minutes, mix in the pot before serving. 11. Transfer to a bowl. Serve with the Mixed Raita (🤍 Enjoy! Cook the meat filling. Let it cool. 2. In a greased llanera, place a cleaned banana leaf and brush with oil again to prevent the ingredients from sticking. 3. To assemble, put the hard-boiled eggs first then the red bell pepper strips. Add beaten eggs in the meat mixture then mix. 4. Cover with the meat mixture, filling the pan and pressing it to spread evenly. 5. Prepare a steamer with boiling water. 6. Place the llaneras and steam for 1-1 1/2 hours. When done, let it cool. 7. Make the fish marinade. Add the fish and coat well. Marinate for 1-2 hours. 2. Wash the basmati rice. Soak in 4 cups of water for at least 30 minutes. 3. Fry the fish. Remove and set aside. 4. In the same pan, leave about 3 tbsp of oil and make the masala mixture. Add the fish marinade. Combine the fish. Simmer for a minute then turn off the heat. 5. To cook the rice, put all ingredients in a large pot. Let it boil. When it boils, add the soaked basmati rice. Stir then cover to simmer. When the rice is 80% done, turn off the heat. 6. In another pot, we start layering starting with masala mixture, rice, masala sauce, mint & coriander leaves, fish, remaining masala sauce, and the rice. 7. A savory dish with a rich and creamy peanut sauce - this is our version of the Kare-Kare recipe. In our recipe, I used oxtail and beef tripe. The secret to this dish is to have the meat really tender, so I made sure of it by using a pressure cooker. You can also do a slow cooking process but to save time, use a pressure cooker instead. In addition, I made our own thickening solution for the sauce by grinding glutinous rice into powder form. This is also a popular dish served during special occasions, which is timely also this holiday season. It has meat, vegetables, all simmered in the peanut sauce. The peanut butter I used is sugar-free that is why I added sugar into this recipe. Try this and I'm sure everyone will love it! Ingredients: * 550g oxtail * 250g beef tripe * 1 bundle pechay * 1 medium eggplant * 1 bunch string beans (sitaw) * 1 medium white onion, chopped * 5 garlic cloves, minced * 1 medium red onion (for tenderizing the beef) * 1/2 cup glutinous rice (malagkit), toasted and grinded * 1/2 cup peanuts, coarsely grinded * 3 tsp fish sauce (or more, to taste) * Annatto water - 1/4 cup annatto seeds soaked in 1/2 cup hot water * 1 pc banana heart (puso ng saging), sliced * 3 Tbsp peanut butter ( I used sugar-free but you can use any you prefer) * 1 tsp sugar * cooking oil Procedure: 1. Use a pressure cooker to tenderize the oxtail and beef tripe. Add water and 1 whole red onion. Boil first to remove the scum. Cook for 30 minutes. Remove from the pot and set aside. Note: The beef broth will be used later in cooking. 2. In a pan, toast glutinous rice for ten minutes. Transfer to a grinder. Grind until it becomes a fine powder. This will be used for thickening the sauce. 3. In a bowl - make annatto water by combining annatto seeds soaked in hot water. Let it cool. Use a strainer to remove the seeds. 4. In a preheated pot with oil, add glutinous rice powder. Mix. 5. Sauté white onions and garlic. 6. Pour the beef broth. Add the annatto water. Let it boil. 7. Put the oxtail and beef tripe. Add the peanut butter. Mix. Cover and simmer. 8. Add the banana heart. Put sugar and fish sauce. Stir and simmer. 9. Add more glutinous rice powder to thicken the sauce. Add the peanuts. Mix then simmer. 10. Add the string beans. Simmer 11. Add the eggplants. Simmer. 12. Lastly add the pechay. Simmer for a minute then turn off the heat. 13. Serve in a bowl. Enjoy with steamed rice! We harvested puso ng saging (banana heart) from our tree so we made Ginataang Puso ng Saging, SARAPlicious version. Before cooking the banana heart, it is soaked in a water solution with salt and vinegar. This helps prevent oxidation and darkening. It is then simmered in coconut cream/milk until it thickens. When desired consistency is achieved, turn off the heat. Here's an easy way to make a SARAPlicious Caesar Salad. In our recipe, I made the croutons using bread slices with garlic-flavored margarine and sliced it into cubes. At the time I'm making this, I didn't have gourmet tuyo so if you have it at home, you can fillet it and add it to your salad. This is a meal in itself or a side dish to your favorite grilled or fried dishes. We have other side dishes that go well with your meals like: 1. You can broil or grill your eggplants, peel the skin off, mash in a bowl then combine the onions, tomatoes, and pour the vinegar mixture. Try this recipe now. It is so SARAPlicious! Ingredients: * 6 pcs eggplants (talong) * 1 pc red onion * 2 pcs tomatoes * 1 pc green chili * spring onions * For the vinegar mixture - 4 Tbsp cane vinegar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp ground black pepper, 1 tsp brown sugar Procedure: 1. Wash the eggplants, tomatoes, and onions. 2. Pierce the eggplants with a fork before broiling. 3. Slice the other ingredients and set aside - tomatoes, onion, spring onions, and green chili. 4.
