Also known as occlusion, hypoxic or KAATSU training, BFR is the process of restricting blood flow out of the working muscle by wrapping a tourniquet-like strap to the top of your arms or legs. The tight material allows blood to flow into your arms or legs through arteries but limits the amount of blood that can leave the limbs through your veins. This restriction creates numerous changes within the body during exercise that has been found to increase muscle strength/size, optimize recovery from injury and enhance aerobic capacity. Elon Musk has a GREAT idea.... why not use a space craft designed for going to mars for transporting people around Earth! Actually, its a profoundly stupid idea on almost every level. Firstly even the best rockets have a lousy track record compared to planes. If only one rocket in a hundred blows up its considered VERY good. Meanwhile if one plane in a million crashes, its considered a poor safety record. Secondly rockets are mind blowingly expensive. You can get an estimate of a ticket on a rocket like this as somewhere between 100 000- 500 000 USD. Its difficult to see that ever being competitive with plane flight which will cost ~1000 USD. BFR Training is a type of training where you restrict the blood flow from the muscle you are working and the heart. When you do that, this causes metabolic stress and encourages the muscle to grow. You also help encourage muscle growth by keeping compounds such as growth hormone in the muscle longer. Today we are going to use BFR Training Cuffs. You can find these on Amazon. Here is a link to a pair of BFR Training Cuffs: 🤍 Bring the band right up to where your bicep inserts, somewhere in the middle of your arm. Tighten it to about a 7/10 tightness. We find around that level to be optimal for BFR Training. Set up an exercise to around 15-30% of your one rep max. Here is our BFR Training Workout: 1. Tricep Pressdown - 30 Reps 2. Cable Curls - 30 Reps 3. Tricep Pressdown - 15 Reps 4. Cable Curls - 15 Reps 5. Tricep Pressdown - 15 Reps 6. Cable Curls - 15 Reps After this hold your hands over your head to encourage blood flow back to the heart. Is a training method partially restricting arterial inflow and fully restricting venous outflow in working muscles during exercise. Basically It Is a training method , to achieve results faster With the lighter load. To complete the workout you will need Occlusion Bands. BFR can be used with resistance training, or with other modalities, including walking. Programs of resistance training with BFR and low loads (20 – 30% of 1RM) appear to increase strength. BFR programs appear to increase strength more than resistance training without BFR when using matched (low) relative loads but are either similar in efficacy or slightly less effective than conventional resistance training with unmatched (high) relative loads. Programs of resistance training with BFR and low loads (20 – 30% of 1RM) appear to produce hypertrophy. BFR programs appear to increase muscular size better than resistance training without blood flow restriction when using matched (low) relative loads but are similar in efficacy to conventional resistance training with unmatched (high) relative loads. There is some evidence that resistance training with BFR might be able to improve muscular power, sprint running speed, and endurance, and that non-resistance training methods (like walking) with blood flow restriction can cause hypertrophy, although there is more limited research in these areas. The mechanisms by which BFR might lead to enhanced adaptations to training compared to similar exercise without BFR are still largely unclear. Resistance training with BFR and low relative loads displays greater muscle activity than comparable conventional resistance training with matched loads, which may reflect an increased muscle fiber recruitment, driving greater hypertrophy.
