Iran Air Force (IRAF): The IRIAF operates a wide range of aircraft sourced from the United States, Russia, and China, including the U.S. F-14 Tomcat, F-4 Phantom II, and F-5 Tiger II; the Russian MiG-29 Fulcrum and Su-24 Fencer; and the Chinese F-7 Airguard. Iran is the only country in the world still operating F-14s. IRIAF missions include air intercept, ground-attack, and close air support, and some aircraft are capable of mid-air refueling. Iran air force F-4s serve as Iran’s primary attack aircraft, but it has increasingly incorporated use of its Su-24 fighter-bombers. Although less capable in an attack role, Iran’s F-5s and F-7s have also served as multirole platforms. Iran will significantly expand its military arsenal by buying high-grade weapons from both China and Russia. The Iranians will be able to radically increase their capabilities if they can buy hardware at a much reduced price as the country plays off Russia and China against each other in a beauty competition. A number of the world’s most proficient aircraft could also be available for sale. While not as advanced as US or European fighter planes, the Russian Sukhoi Su-30 Flanker combat jet along with China’s J-10 Firebird and the joint China-Pakistan JF-17 Thunder multi-role jets are available for export. Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force is the aviation branch of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army. The present Air Force came into being when the Imperial Iranian Air Force was renamed in 1979. It is one of the few air forces in the Middle East with experience in a conventional war, having fought the Iran–Iraq War. It has carried out major operations like Operation Kaman 99, Operation Sultan 10, the H-3 airstrike, and the first attack on a nuclear reactor in history, Operation Scorch Sword. As a result of fighting a brutal and intense non-stop air war for 8 years, the IRIAF has the highest number of fighter aces in the region (besides the IAF), having as many as 7 people with more than 6 kills. Most of these aces achieved their status flying the F-14 Tomcat jet. Evolving from its experiences in that conflict, the IRIAF has developed real battle tested tactics and a cadre of skillful pilots. Many of them, both veterans of the 8-year war and senior generals, form the core of today's IRIAF command. #iriaf #iranarmy #iranian History of the #Iranian Air Force The IRIAF came into being when the former Imperial Iranian Air Force (IIAF) was renamed following the Islamic Revolution in Iran, in February 1979. The British publishing company Orbis' Warplane partwork magazine seems to indicate the renaming did not actually take place until after the Iran–Iraq War had broken out. This "new" Iranian air force largely inherited the equipment and structure of the former IIAF, even losing most of its leading officers in the course of post-revolutionary chaos, as well as due to the prosecution of those considered as loyal to the Shah, pro-U.S. or elsewhere by the new government in Tehran. Due to strained relations with the west, Iran had to procure new equipment from Brazil, the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China. Since the Revolution, the exact composition of the IRIAF has been hard to determine, but estimates do exist. Many aircraft belonging to the Iraqi Air Force took refuge in Iran during the Persian Gulf War in 1991, and many were put into service with the IRIAF or taken apart for spare parts. Due to the continuous spare parts shortages faced by the air force, a decision was made in the late 1980s to develop a local aerospace industry to support the air force. In 2002, Iran, with the co-operation of Ukraine, successfully started the manufacture of the Iran-140, a licence-built version of the Antonov An-140 transport aircraft. Simultaneously, Iran began construction of two domestically produced fighters, upgraded using technology from the F-14 Tomcat and the F-5 Tiger II. The fighters have been named the Azarakhsh and the Shafaq. Since then the country has also become self-sufficient in the manufacture of helicopters. The country claims that it is capable of producing the U.S. AH-1 Cobra gunship. Additionally, Iran also produces Bell Helicopter Bell 212 and Bell 206 helicopters in serial production. These are known respectively as the Shabaviz 2-75 and the Shabaviz 206.
The Iranian Army has unveiled its first underground Air Force base, called “Oqab 44” (Eagle 44), which is capable of storing and operating various types of fighter jets, bombers and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Oghab-44 is one of the several tactical underground bases of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) that has been constructed across the country in recent years given the operational needs of the Air Force units and the civil defense requirements. Capable of accommodating the fighter jets in safe locations and equipping the planes with electronic warfare systems and various bombs and missiles, the underground bases allow for standoff aerial operations and extend the strategic range of attacks against distant targets. #iranmilitary #irandefense #iraniandrones

#iran #iranairforce #iriaf #f14fighterjets #f14iran #military The Army Air Force managed to overhaul an F-14 fighter jet, which was grounded for 18 years, Commander of the Iranian Army Air Force Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi said. He added that the overhaul operations on the aircraft was conducted in the Air Force’s base in Isfahan over a period of three years. “Our enemies never thought we could overhaul this aircraft and use it after years, seeing its very complicated maintenance,” General Vahedi said. He added that thousands of parts of the fighter plane were replaced or repaired during the overhaul process. “From a to z of the repair and maintenance process was carried out by domestic experts and we needed [the help of] no foreign company,” General Vahedi said. In a relevant development last year, the experts at the Iranian Army Air Force’s martyr Habibi Zaham base in the Northeastern city of Mashhad overhauled an F-5 bomber fighter jet. “With the efforts of young, talented and committed specialists and experts of martyr Habibi Zaham base in Mashhad, an F-5 fighter-bomber aircraft was overhauled in 10,000 man-hours of work, relying on domestic power and indigenous know-how, and joined the air fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Commander of the base General Hamid Mostafavi said at the time. He described the achievement as an honor for the Air Force which has been able to overhaul fighter jets by reliance on the domestic skills. “Today, the know-how to overhaul different types of aircraft, train pilots and supply the needed parts and weapons has become indigenized in the Army Air Force and we are not dependent on foreign countries at all," General Mostafavi said. The F-14 fighter jet was the ideal aircraft for Iranian pilots, as it effectively challenged the Soviet MiG-25R Foxbat jets over Iranian territory. The Tomcat was the equivalent to the F-22 today, the most superior and advanced aircraft in the sky. The U.S. soon regretted allowing Iran to become the only other country to operate the fourth-generation fighter jets. The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to maintain its F-14 fleet despite the eight-year-long Iran-Iraq war and weapons embargos carried out by the U.S. In fact, the Iranian Air Force has actually increased the number of operational airframes in the last few decades and has advanced the fighter jet’s electronics and weapons systems. According to reports, Iran’s technicians may have developed nearly 300 separate modifications to the supersonic fighter. The remaining Iranian Tomcat fleet now showcases brand new wiring, avionics and sensors. Since the U.S. cut off Iran from acquiring its F-14 missiles, the regime modified its fleet to carry Soviet R-27 and R-73 missiles. Recently, Iran has successfully reverse-engineered parts for the F-14 airframe and AIM-54 missiles, ultimately producing an effective native-grown variant of the original F-14 Phoenix missile.

The very first air to air kill by the legendary f-14 tomcat was achieved by the Iranian air force, during the Iran Iraq war. On September 7th 1980, 5 M I 25 helicopters of Iraqi air force penetrated Iranian airspace, and attacked several border posts, here in this region called Zain al-Qaws. In response, the Iranian air force ordered 2 F-14s to scramble the aggressors! A few minutes later, the leed Persian cat, piloted by Major Kamaal Jamshidi, and radar-intercept officer Lieutenant Pasha Pour, visually acquired one of the M I 25s, and then came a twist! Pilot locked the helicopter and fired aim-9P sidewinder, but missile hit the ground instead, because of ground's heat! The second missile also suffered the same thing, what should they do now? The answer was Persian cat's M 61 A1 Vulcan gun! Although some sources say that F-14 was not designed to engage the helicopters at close range, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The F-14 fired 400 rounds on the MI-25, and many of them successfully hit the helicopter, exploding it into massive fire ball. #shorts #youtubeshorts #f14tomcat #f14 #iranian #story #iran

Technicians and experts of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) successfully overhauled a MiG-29 fighter aircraft that had been grounded for five years, on Feb. 8, 2016. The Iranian defense ministry also delivered its home-made and high-precision air-launched cruise missile, ‘Nasr', to the IRIAF on Tuesday Feb. 9, 2016. "The Nasr missile is designed to attack and destroy specific targets," Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said, addressing a ceremony to deliver the missiles to the IRIAF today, Feb. 9, 2016. Noting that Nasr will increase the operational and tactical capabilities of the IRIAF, he said the air-lauched missile can be mounted and fired from fighter jets in midair. The Nasr, or Nasr-1 missile is an anti-ship missile. It has an operational range of 35 km and can reach a speed of Mach 0.8 to 09. Its warhead is made of 150 kg time-delayed semi armour-piercing high-explosive. It took technicians at Shahid Fakouri Air Base in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz some 17,000 man-hours to overhaul the aircraft. The military airplane made successful test flights after the overhaul and returned to service. In August 2015, a senior Iranian Air Force commander had announced that the country attained self-sufficiency in overhauling military aircraft despite the sanctions imposed by the western countries. Before, the overhaul of military planes in Iran was carried out by foreign military attachés. "But today Iran is able to overhaul military aircraft thanks to reliance on the capabilities of the country’s committed engineers and technicians. The Soviet Union delivered MiG-29 and MiG-29UB trainers during 1990-1991 period. Almost 36 MiG-29A/U/UB were operational as of December 2015. Although an older airframe and perhaps lacking compared to more modern airframes, the MiG-29 is nonetheless still capable—and that’s why Iran bought it. The Mikoyan MiG-29 is a twin-engine jet fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. Developed by the Mikoyan design bureau as an air superiority fighter during the 1970s, the MiG-29, along with the larger Sukhoi Su-27, was developed to counter new U.S. fighters such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. The MiG-29 entered service with the Soviet Air Forces in 1982. While originally oriented towards combat against any enemy aircraft, many MiG-29s have been furnished as multirole fighters capable of performing a number of different operations, and are commonly outfitted to use a range of air-to-surface armaments and precision munitions. The MiG-29 has been manufactured in several major variants, including the multirole Mikoyan MiG-29M and the navalised Mikoyan MiG-29K; the most advanced member of the family to date is the Mikoyan MiG-35. Later models frequently feature improved engines, glass cockpits with HOTAS-compatible flight controls, modern radar and infrared search and track (IRST) sensors, and considerably increased fuel capacity; some aircraft have also been equipped for aerial refueling. The MiG-29 has also been a popular export aircraft; more than 30 nations either operate or have operated the aircraft to date. In 1997, the United States bought twenty-one MiG-29 fighter jets from Moldova, in an effort to keep the capable airframes out of Iranian hands. Fourteen of the MiG-29 that the United States bought were later-model MiG-29Cs, which were at the time the most advanced variant available. The purchase was nothing unusual for the time, as the United States had been in the market for high-tech Russian tidbits after the fall of the Soviet Union. Cash-strapped Moldova had no use for the high-tech fighters, and apparently gladly sold them to the United States. The arms purchase was part of the “U.S. Cooperative Threat Reduction program, a three-year-old, $380-million effort to move to safety many of the remnants of the Soviet arsenal” and was intended to prevent Iran from gaining an edge over its regional adversaries. In 1992 that Iran had acquired an enormous arms package from a number of Eastern European countries, as well as China and North Korea. “The Saudi and French officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Iran spent or committed $3.2 billion on arms in 1988 and 1989, primarily to the former Soviet Union for MIG fighters and tanks. In the heady days after the Soviet collapse, the purchase came often. “In 1990 and 1991, these officials say, Iran spent or pledged $4 billion more to buy tanks, missiles and fighter jets. These weapons most of which have been acquired, include 24 MIG-31s, 24 MIG 27s, 68 MIG-29s, 12 Tupolev-22 M bombers and several radar-detecting Ilyushin 76s, largely bought from the former Soviet Union and from Russia.” Although Iran’s airframes are piously old and incredibly overworked, they are still potent in some scenarios. American efforts may have been in vain after all. #iran #iranmilitary #IRIAF

The F-14 Tomcat is perhaps the greatest American jet fighter of all time, being operated by the US Navy from 1974 until 2006. Only one other country ever operated the Tomcat, but not only does this nation still fly F-14s, but they are an enemy of the United States. This is the story of Iran's F-14 Tomcats. Historically's Forgotten History Series is a series to teach people lesser known and forgotten (yet very interesting) moments in history. (Also please note that all the video footage is of American and not Iranian F-14s, even when I'm discussing Iran's F-14s. This is simply because finding footage that I can use in a video of an F-14 is hard enough, and footage of Iranian Tomcats are hard to come by, so please excuse the lack of accurate footage.) The present air force came into being when the Imperial Iranian Air Force was renamed in 1979 following the Iranian Revolution. The IRIAF was heavily involved in the Iran–Iraq War, carrying out major operations like Operation Kaman 99, Operation Sultan 10, the H-3 airstrike, and the first attack on a nuclear reactor in history, Operation Scorch Sword. As a result of eight years of aerial combat in that conflict, the IRIAF has the second highest claimed number of fighter aces in the region, exceeded only by the Israeli Air Force; as many as seven IRIAF pilots claimed more than six kills, mostly achieved in the F-14 Tomcat. Veterans of the Iran–Iraq War would go on to form the core of the IRIAF command. The Israeli Air Force (IAF; Hebrew: זְרוֹעַ הָאֲוִיר וְהֶחָלָל, romanized: Zroa HaAvir VeHahalal, lit. 'tl', "Air and Space Arm", commonly known as חֵיל הָאֲוִיר, Kheil HaAvir, "Air Corps") operates as the aerial warfare branch of the Israel Defense Forces. It was founded on May 28, 1948, shortly after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. As of April 2022, Aluf Tomer Bar has been serving as the Air Force commander. The Israeli Air Force was established using commandeered or donated civilian aircraft and obsolete and surplus World War II combat aircraft. Eventually, more aircraft were procured, including Boeing B-17s, Bristol Beaufighters, de Havilland Mosquitoes and P-51D Mustangs. The Israeli Air Force played an important part in Operation Kadesh, Israel's part in the 1956 Suez Crisis, dropping paratroopers at the Mitla Pass. On June 5, 1967, the first day of the Six-Day War, the Israeli Air Force performed Operation Focus, debilitating the opposing Arab air forces and attaining air supremacy for the remainder of the war. Shortly after the end of the Six-Day War, Egypt initiated the War of Attrition, and the Israeli Air Force performed repeated bombings of strategic targets deep within enemy territory. When the Yom Kippur War broke out on October 6, 1973, Egyptian and Syrian advances forced the IAF to abandon detailed plans for the destruction of enemy air defences. Forced to operate under the missile and anti-aircraft artillery threats, the close air support it provided allowed Israeli troops on the ground to stem the tide and eventually go on the offensive. Since that war most of Israel's military aircraft have been obtained from the United States. Among these are the A-4 Skyhawk, F-4 Phantom II, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-35 Lightning II. The Israeli Air Force has also operated a number of domestically produced types such as the IAI Nesher, and later, the more advanced IAI Kfir. On June 7, 1981, eight IAF F-16s covered by six F-15s carried out Operation Opera to destroy the Iraqi nuclear facilities at Osiraq. On June 9, 1982, the Israeli Air Force carried out Operation Mole Cricket 19, crippling Syrian air defences in Lebanon. On October 1, 1985, In response to a PLO terrorist attack which murdered three Israeli civilians in Cyprus, the Israeli air force carried out Operation Wooden Leg, bombing the PLO Headquarters in Tunis. In 1991, the IAF carried out Operation Solomon which brought Ethiopian Jews to Israel. In 1993 and 1996, the IAF participated in Operation Accountability and Operation Grapes of Wrath, respectively. It has taken part in many operations since, including the 2006 Lebanon War, Operation Cast Lead, Operation Pillar of Cloud, Operation Protective Edge and Operation Guardian of the Walls. On September 6, 2007, the Israeli Air Force successfully bombed an alleged Syrian nuclear reactor in Operation Orchard.[3] Source: DVIDS 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 EDIT: Music: YouTube Audio Library Mantage: Sony Vegas Pro 13 Translated by Google Translator 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 🇺🇸 💪 ©️✅ Copyright.
